Car was at auction 11/19
www.brightwells.com/lot-details/100011740
Auction description:
Lot number 79
Sale Price Not Sold
Make & Model Jaguar XJS 4.0 Coupe
Registration J17 JNH
Year 1993
Colour Red
Engine Size 3,980 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNAED3EJ188759
Engine No. 9EPCNA176102
Documents V5C; MOT to July 2020; Service and Handbook
This 1993 XJS has clocked up a piffling 125,000 miles, which is backed up by the 20 service stamps (101, 000 miles by 2006) and its MOT history. J17 JNH currently has an MOT until July 2020.
The car’s overall condition appears excellent and the deep red paintwork is nicely set-off by the chromed five-spoke wheels. The interior is also very smart with only a little scuffing on the driver’s seat giving any indication of its age. The headlining has recently been professionally replaced.
The vendor has also replaced the windscreen and carried out various bodywork repairs to a high standard and this big cat certainly does look very smart and sounded very smooth when being driven for our photo shoot.
Interest in these later XJS models is on the rise and new owners are beginning to appreciate the improved standard of build and engineering improvements that make them a real quality luxury tourer.
AMENDMENT; A new battery has just been fitted

The vendor has provided the following:
1993 XJS 4.0 Sportline
Recently back on the road and in average condition cosmetically - has had a respray in the past, but not the best quality, and some paint chips here and there
However, no major rust is coming through, and only very small bubbling in a few isolated areas. A "ten-foot" car. Rear sills and suspension points have been welded, and the car undersealed with bills and pictures to prove
Interior has wear consummate with age (including wear to the door veneers, but the main dash is better), although the radio signal can be poor
Mechanically good (new hoses in the last year - no leaks!!), starts every time, pulls very well through the gears with good kickdown in "S"
Has been driven several hundred miles since being off the road and either garaged or covered when not in use
Known issues - The driver's door lock is not functioning, and the temperature gauge works sporadically. However, the car does suffer from overheating and is happy in traffic and hot weather
Ready to drive away, and a very good basis for improvement
