Ebay item 1/15/19

www.ebay.com/itm/1976-Jaguar-XJS/303029633525

Winning bid: $6,300 after 30 bids, seller v.f.magnum, 91k miles.

Seller's description:

This 1976 Jaguar XJS V12 is a series 1 edition, finished in beautiful red paint with a gorgeous tan leather interior. The car was repainted approximately 7 years ago from its original "plum firemist metallic" color. Vehicle is powered by its original 5.3 liter V12 mated to its BorgWarner Model 12 automatic transmission. In 1976 this car was capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in just 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 143 MPH, making it a very strong contender in the luxury sports car market. The car has been properly maintained and service throughout it life and represents itself very well. The floors and trunk are rust free. The car retains its original Jaguar wheels. When driving this car you feel that it was truly a grand touring vehicle, and gives you an appreciation for classic Jaguar. Additional photos are available upon request. The car is currently located in Montreal, Quebec.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
