Car was at auction 12/10
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

Auction description:
Lot No: 116
Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
Model XJS Coupe
First Registered 1976
Registration No LBP975P
Engine No 3430SB
Chassis No 2W52000BW
MOT July 2011
Colour Red

Offered here is a very early car, which has the original, pre HE V12 and shorter final drive ratio, which gave these early cars incredible acceleration. The later HE cars were given a long-legged 2.88-1 final drive in the search for better economy.

This 1976 car is said to have been originally registered in Jersey, so one can only assume that it popped into France on a regular basis. Wherever it went, it did not do very much in the way of mileage or kilometres, as it is only showing 50,000 km on the odometer. The vendor states that the car was stored in a warehouse, inside a wooden crate for many years, before being rescued and recommissioned.

Finished in the original red with black leather interior, the car is said to be in very good condition and is offered complete with an MoT through to July 2011 and tax until March 2011
Estimate £4500-5000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
