Ebay item 2/23/21
www.ebay.com/itm/1993-Jaguar-XJ-S-Convertible/284194106977
Classified ad price: $14,995 seller streetsideclassiccars, 81k miles

Seller's description;
Exterior Color: British Racing Green
Interior Color: Barley
Body Type: Convertible
Transmission: 4 Speed Automatic
Drivetrain: RWD
Engine: 4.0 Liter I6
Mileage: 81,686

The later years are arguably the best for the XJS. The styling was allowed to mature, and the European-style headlights were finally added to give them a truly distinctive look. The long hood and the low-slung body were subtle hints at the company's sporting history. This earns its elegance in the details, like the wraparound chrome bumpers and 15-inch lattice wheels. Plus, there's just something extra-special about a British car coming from the factory in British Racing Green. Since this is believed to be the original application, the value price leaves room in your budget for updating, but today it already has a proper shine that shows this car has been treated with care. It has an overall presentation and fit that highlights the mindful ownership, and averaging less than 3k miles annually proves this is a special occasion kind of car.

The convertible top has the clean look and smooth feel of a new investment. The tan color has a timelessly elegant look against the green paint, and so you'll be happy to see that there's also a tan leather interior underneath. Jaguars are one of the finest at blending old-world craftsmanship and top-grade materials. So you not only get quality in the soft leather, but also details, like the real wood dash and center console. When you slip behind the Momo sports steering wheel, you get a true driver's feeling from the big gauges and the gear shift that feels substantial in your hand. As expected from a car of this caliber there are plenty of desirable features, including power seats, power windows, power locks, an anti-theft system, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. Plus, R134a air conditioning keeps this luxury interior at your ideal comfort temperature even when you are having top-down fun.

By 1993, the new 4.0-liter inline-six was the engine of choice because this fuel-injected multi-valve DOHC provided this car with the most advanced and refined power plant of the series. This motor looks original in the engine bay, and shares a style with many of the legendary long Jaguar blocks before it. The XJS has a fully independent suspension that has been built to balance luxury cruising with spirited driving. In fact, the famous Jaguar rear end has the rear disc brakes inboard for better weight distribution. Plus, there's also a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, power steering, and modern Toyo tires to really enjoy the grand tour.

The sale comes complete with a huge documentation file, including the dealer invoice, original window sticker, title documentation, and maintenance records. It all goes to show an upper-class convertible treated with upper-class care. It's time to demand the finest from life even if you only have to pay a pittance.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
