75,902 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07, SELLER WRITES:

Ok...This was supposed to be my little project car but, now I`m trying to get some cash together for a down payment on a house so this needs to go. So, where do I start...I bought this from my mother last year. She bought it used about 10 years ago. It was her daily driver during the summer and stored for most winters. The body does have some rust in all the little usual spots and has few dings on both sides of the car. All of the chrome is in beautiful condition and all glass is good. The front seats are pretty bad. They really need to be redone. The back seat is still in pretty good condition. I pulled the carpet out earlier this year with hopes of putting in the new, but haven`t gotten that far. So... The seats and console are out of the car. I do have new carpet that will go with the car and I also still have all the old carpet too. My mom had the headliner replaced a couple years ago so it`s in pretty good shape. The wood dash trim has a few small cracks like everyother one I`ve seen. The dash itself is in great shape. No cracks or anything. The car came with a pioneer tape deck that doesn`t work. The tires are a few years old but because it hasn`t been driven much are still in great condition, probably 80% of tread left. Here`s some good news...This thing is super reliable. always starts right up and purs like a kitten. well, sort of purs. There is a small exaust leak, and you can hear that a little bit. It goes down the road like a dream. smoothest car I`ve ever driven. and looks georgous. There is a very small dent on the top of the passenger side fender, not very big, but it`s there. The transmission leaks if left to sit for more than a few days. I`ve traced that problem to a bad transmission pan gaskett. That`s an easy fix and should be inexpensive because this car came with a GM transmission. ummm...I don`t know what else to say...needs some work but overall it`s pretty good. If you put the drivers seat back in, you could drive it home...or anywhere. I paid $1000 for it from my mother. I think that price was more than fair and that`s where I`m starting the bidding. If you don`t mind a little work, this would be a great summer car! The A/C worked just fine last year after a recharge. The pictures don`t do it justice. Beautiful car! Runs great!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
