Attended 2015 NEC Show in the UK held on November 14, 2015. Owner stated he acquired the XJ-SC in July this year after selling a Jaguar E type Roadster that I had owned for approaching 20 years. During this time the car became well known and won many awards in Scotland. With values increasing and having done all I could do to the car and finding I was using it less and less I decided to sell. The XJ-SC had been owned by a close friend for 25 years since 1990 and had been exceptionally well looked after and always kept in a heated garage. As a result it is rust free and had only covered 3,000 miles since 2003. Between September 1987 and 1990 the car had three Owner's and covered 40,000 miles. It has now covered 90,000 miles. It was purchased by my friend (the 4th owner) for £ 20,000 after seeing it advertised in the Sunday Times on the 20th May 1990. Since acquiring the car and in light of the little use over the last 12 years I had the car thoroughly checked and serviced then embarked on further work to preserve and improve including a full chassis clean and underseal with all cavities wax filled, rebuild of the gearbox to rectify the known problem of reluctance to change up from first when cold, and new Pirelli tyres fitted to refurbished wheels.
