This car has an engine taken from another XJ-SC and the fact that it was at the factory for over a year before being despatched, possibly there was either a problem with the engine/transmission, or the car was used for experimental purposes? The donor engine/transmission came from XJ-SC (VIN 114471) – an earlier one, which was not scrapped, but fitted with another earlier engine and a later gearbox.
