1976 Jaguar XJ-S I am the second owner of this car, and it's never seen a Midwest winter. As long as I've owned it, the only moisture it's seen is from washing it. I have never driven it in rain, nor has it ever been stored outdoors under my ownership. The previous owner parked it outdoors, but never drove it in the winter months. It's a survivor, but in need of resuscitation. It's completely original, and I intend on keeping as much of its originality intact. Currently, it's resting with 43,010 original miles. Well, its the end of an era for me. Today, my 1976 Jaguar XJ-S that I've owned for over 30 years is starting it's journey over the pond to the UK. It's probably good I wasn't there to see it loaded up, I can't explain why we get all attached to a machine, but I was attached to this car. I had my fun with this car, it was stored without being used for many years (in some ways, not a good thing), and now it's time for it's new guardian to give it the care it needs to be put back into service.
It's weird, it will be full circle for this car; it was built in Coventry, England in 1976, imported to the USA, sold to it's first owner by Hansord Pontiac - Jaguar, Minneapolis, then to me, and today it starts its trip back to England... Kind of sad to see it go...
