This 1991 Jaguar XJS coupe is finished in black over tan leather and was purchased by the seller in 2018 from the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile Museum in Auburn, Indiana. Power comes from a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission, and service in August 2018 reportedly included new tires, a new battery, fresh fluids, and an oil change. This XJS is offered at no reserve with service records, spare parts, a factory manual, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Kentucky title in the seller’s father’s name.
The exterior is finished in black with red and white pinstriping. The condition of the paintwork is shown in a number of gallery photos below. The accompanying Carfax report shows no history of accidents or other damage.
Factory 15″ mesh wheels are fitted with Mastercraft Avenger G/T tires, which reportedly were installed in August 2018. Three of the four wheel-center caps are absent, and the rubber grommet that seals the retractable antenna to the body is missing as shown in the gallery below.
The interior is trimmed in tan leather with a matching center console and door panels as well as a black dashboard with contrasting wood trim. The headliner is drooping, and cracks are noted in the wood near the shifter surround.
Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and a 6-digit odometer that shows just over 34k miles. True mileage is unknown due to gauge-cluster malfunctioning, and the seller has added approximately 50 miles in nine months of ownership. The tachometer is noted as reading 1,600 rpm with the engine off.
Paired with a 3-speed automatic gearbox, the 5.3-liter V12 was originally rated at 263 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque in the US market. Reported maintenance in August 2018 included a new battery, an oil change, and new fluids.
The Carfax report lists no accidents or other damage. The report does note a mileage discrepancy as of August 2017 associated with the aforementioned gauge malfunctioning.
