Seller’s Description:

1990 Jaguar XJS Convertible Classic Collection

I'm selling my '90 XJS. It's got 64K miles on it (almost) and is extremely original with no paintwork and no accidents. It's in very good condition and everything works great. I'm selling it because I have too many cars and I need the spot for a new toy. It's a great car and it's really grown on me but the old ball and chain is right – we have too many and something really needs to go.

I bought this car from an individual in Colorado that was a member of the Rocky Mountain Jaguar Owners Club and had owned the car for 16 years. It has been meticulously maintained and cared for.

I haven't had a single problem with the car and I haven't had to do anything to it. I changed out the center console “Ski-Slope” for a new one from British Autowood that added cup holders and USB Charging Ports, but that's about it. I love making my cars as good as they can be, but that's about all I could find to do to this one.

Power Top
Power Windows
Power Locks
Power Mirrors
Heated Seats with Lumber
Factory Fog Lights with Original Jaguar Covers
New Padded Boot Cover

Body: The paint color is Oyster (SDE) which is a '91 color but this car was manufactured in September of 1990 so I'm guessing that's why. It is the original paint and matches the paint code. The car has no dents or dings anywhere and is in great condition overall. There are a few minor scratches here and there from just existing for 30 years, but nothing that wouldn't buff out I don't think. The underside of the car is extremely clean as well.

Mechanical: It runs great and everything works like it's supposed to. It starts right up and runs strong with no issues. It can sit for months (and has) and it will just start right up without hesitation. Nothing seems to drain the battery at all. The V12 is silky smooth and the transmission shifts like butter. It really is a great running and driving Jag.

Wheels and Tires: The tires are nearly new. The wheels have been chromed and are in decent shape but there is some pitting starting to show. They can be refinished easily enough when needed.

Electrics: Everything works perfectly. All of the lights and gauges and controls are working correctly and all of the power options work great. Even the old school computer works perfectly.

Interior: The interior is in really good shape. The dash is perfect and as I stated above, I replaced the center console wood with a new unit from British Autowood that replaces the ashtrays with drink holders and the cigar lighter with a pair of USB ports for charging. The Doeskin (AEE) leather looks great – the only blemish being some wear starting to show on the drivers bolster as usual. The carpets and console are all excellent as well. This car originally had a phone. The hand set is removed but the phone console is still in place.

AC: The AC and heat work in all functions. The heat is phenomenal – it will cook you in no time if you let it. The AC works well but it's not as cold as you want it to be in Houston in the middle of the summer. It's cold, but not ice cold. It probably needs a charge, but if it needs a charge that means it's leaking somewhere (it's a pet peeve of mine – I hate it when people say an AC system just needs a charge. If it needs freon, it got out somehow!). Everything works perfectly though.

Top: The power top works perfect. The outside is in great shape. The interior liner has some stains but it's not bad looking.

Extras: I think I have just about everything that it would have come with like the manuals and cassette cleaning set, etc. It has a new cover for when the top is down. It's padded and fits perfectly.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
