Car to be at auction 10/22

www.broadarrowauctions.com/vehicles/tj22_114/1994-jaguar-xjs-convertible-six-speed

Auction description:

1994 Jaguar XJS

Broad Arrow Auctions - Passion for the Drive : the Cars of Jim Taylor

Gloversville, 15 October

Description

Chassis No. SAJNX2783RC193217

The Taylor XJS convertible is desirably equipped with the fuel-injected 4.0-litre six-cylinder engine, mated to the seldom seen six-speed manual transmission for a true enthusiast driving experience. Finished in Flamenco Red Mica over tan leather interior with matching wool carpeting and power top, it is also equipped with power steering, power windows, power seats, day/night mirror, chrome side mirrors, and air conditioning.

Mr. Taylor used this car occasionally with family for several years, and following a minor accident in 2003, noted in the history file, the bodywork was properly repaired and partially refinished. The XJS remains in otherwise good overall order, with a clean and untouched engine bay, and a crisp interior with burled walnut trim. At the time of cataloging, the car had recorded 31,145 miles, and it is complete with an original spare wheel and tire.

There is a reason that the XJS, in all its forms, was produced for over twenty years: it was a handsome, muscular automobile and a pleasure to drive. This example boasts a desirable specification and wonderful equipment, and would be a perfect example to employ as one's driver in sunny climates this winter.

Ebay item 7/18/23

www.ebay.com/itm/204400211799

Classified ad price $59,500 seller vantage1227, car now said to be in Huntington Station, New York, 31k miles

Seller's description:

-Flamenco Red Metallic with Tan leather interior, Tan carpeting and Tan convertible top, Factory 5-speed manual, Extremely rare and collectible, 1 of only 56 produced for the Unites States, 4.0 liter 6-cylinder engine,

31,000 miles from new, Jaguar collector owned.

The XJS debuted in 1975, succeeding the famous E-Type, it was a completely new design language for Jaguar. Initially launched only in Coupe form with a V12, the updated Series II XJS for the early 1980s featured a new 3.6 liter straight 6-cylinder and a convertible variant. The third and final series of the XJS debuted in 1991 with updates including a new 4.0 Liter straight 6-cylinder engine, revised rear brakes and more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers. Both elegant and sporty, the XJS represents a significant piece of Jaguar history, the example offered here, even more so due to its being an extremely rare 5-speed manual variant.

These XJS's are handsomely appointed with Burl Walnut wood veneer, wool carpeting, power top, power steering, power windows, power seats, day/night mirror, chrome side mirrors, and air conditioning.

Collector owned and cared for from new, this XJS convertible has been serviced within the collection when and where needed to ensure it being available for immediate use and enjoyment. All functions, including convertible top mechanism, are working exactly as designed from the factory.

Handsome, muscular and extremely comfortable as only an English grand touring convertible can be, this extremely rare 5-speed manual example if offered having 31,000 collector owned miles from new and complete with history file. Sure to appreciate over time, this is an opportunity to own a very special limited production piece of Jaguar history.
