This 1996 Jaguar XJS was originally sold in New York and is finished in Carnival Red over a tan leather interior. Power comes from a 4.0-liter inline-six mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission, and the seller has driven the car approximately 5,800 miles since acquiring it in 2011. This XJS now shows 56k miles, and is being offered with an owner’s manual, partial service records, a car cover, Carfax report, and a clean Massachusetts title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished is Carnival Red paint with color-matched bumpers and polished body trim, mirrors, and windshield frame. According to the seller, damage incurred while the car was parked resulted in the replacement of the left front light assembly and repair of the hood. The paint is shown in a number of gallery photos.
The power-operated tan top is equipped with a glass rear window, and is shown in both raised and lowered positions in the gallery. Factory 16″ alloy wheels are shod in a set of 225/60 Pirelli P6 tires, a spare is mounted in the trunk.
The cabin is finished in light tan leather upholstery with contrasting piping on the seats, darker carpeting, and walnut trim across the dashboard, center console, and steering wheel. Factory amenities include power windows, locks, and mirrors, electrically-adjustable seats, cruise control, AM/FM radio, dual front airbags, and an analog clock.
A matching boot cover is included along with a full car cover. The seller notes the air conditioning was recharged in August 2018 and an electric window switch was replaced in August 2017.
The 4.0-liter inline-six was factory rated at 237 horsepower with 282 lb-ft of torque, and sends power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. Recent maintenance included replacement of the EGR valve and main battery, and partial service invoices dating back to 2011 will be included with the car.
Several photos are provided to illustrate the chassis, underbody, and suspension components.
The Carfax shows the car spent time in New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, with the aforementioned parking lot damage not listed in the report. Per the seller, several erroneous reports of a vehicle service completed at Woburn Foreign Motors in Massachusetts is also listed.
