Seller's description:
I've owned this 1995 XJS since 2014. It's a great car that needs a new home and some TLC. Here's the facts: Engine runs well and car drives well - it's quite good on the highway and very smooth. I've had brake work done, some suspension work, exhaust system is solid. The car has been kept indoors since I acquired it. The top works, as do the quarter windows. I installed a new radio/CD player which works great. Can runs cool, A/C works very well. Electric door locks and windows work.
Issues: when the car is running for a while it sometimes stalls at idle - I've had it looked at and its a sensor/computer issue that I haven't pursued getting fixed. When I had the car transported a couple of years ago the hauler caused some minor damage to the front left bumper, cracking the paint/finish on the bumper. The spoiler beneath is cracked from impacting parking bumpers too many times. When I park the car for more than a day or two I have to disconnect the battery to keep it from draining - a typical problem with these cars. The driver's side door panel is in rough shape - the previous owner did some hack job on it and it needs to be fixed but the effect is only cosmetic. The seats at some point were replaced or rewired - the door-panel controls don't operate the seats but they were rigged with rocker switches below which operate them fine for back and forth adjustment.
I own two XJS's and need to get down to one - this is a nice car that will thrive with someone who can address these relatively minor issues. I did two 1,000 MI FL to MASS trips in this car in the last couple of years and she was really lovely to drive.
