102,000 MILES, ON EBAY 05/07, SELLER WRITES:
I am sadly offering one of my toys for auction. I have started a new business and need the capital, so here goes.

You are viewing my clean 1994 Jaguar XJS convertible. This Jag has the reliable 4.0L 6 cylinder engine. I have owned both a 12 cylinder XJS and this 6 cylinder, and I much prefer this one. The lighter engine allows the car to handle very well with good power and twice the gas mileage you would get with a 12 cylinder.

This Jaguar has all the accessories including power windows, top, door locks, steering, and brakes. It also has alloy wheels, A/C {works fine}, dual power heated memory seats, and Jaguar factory original AM/FM cassette stereo. This Jaguar runs great and is in very good mechanical condition including brakes, suspension, exhaust, etc. It also has 4 nearly new Perelli tires. I would not hesitate to get in this car and drive it a long distance.

The Jag has its original Champange exterior paint and tan leather interior. The paint still looks excellent from 10 feet away, but has minor chips, scratches and blemishes upon close inspection. I think the paint would really benefit from a good machine polishing. There are no dents at all. The interior is showing minor wear as shown in the pictures. The leather front seat bottoms are getting the lines in them that older leather gets. The rear seat is excellent. Nobody can sit back there anyway! There is an area on the back of the rear seat that the top rubbed through.

While this is a very nice and clean Jaguar, there are a few issues to disclose. The power door locks are not working. I think the problem is in the passenger side actuator. The right rear quarter window sometimes will not go down with the top. This I think is just a bad connection, because it is intermittent. This Jag has the original top and it is showing its age with a couple small holes. Lastly, there is a very minor P/S fluid leak somewhere.

I have been honest in my description of this Jaguar. For the price I am offering this car, you will not be disappointed. I do have the car for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells. For any serious buyers who might not want to get in a bidding war, I would do a Buy-it-now for $7,500. Please e-mail me if you want this option. For everyone else, place your best bid and you just might win!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
