Seller's description:
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a very rare 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible with just 102k original miles. I would rate the exterior of this classic Jaguar to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for an original car of this age and mileage. It is finished in Black with a matching Black soft top over Tan leather interior, which is a good color combination. The black finish shows some age in spots but looks smooth and is presentable, overall. As with any older vehicle, please expect a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. As I mentioned, the finish shows fading here and there from age. The worst spot is on the boot lid at the very back of the vehicle. There is one piece of trim on the right side that is coming loose. This can be seen in the photos, too. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors, and trunk all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The factory alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in nice rubber with deep tread all around. The convertible top appears to be in great condition and does not show any evidence of past or present leaks.
I would also rate the interior of this XJS to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for an original Jaguar of this age and mileage. The door cards show well for their age and all of the buttons are intact and functional. The dash and headliner are clean, too. The carpets show well throughout the interior. Both front seats are power operated and heated. The driver's seat shows the most wear. The seats are comfortable, though, and presentable for their age and the mileage of this vehicle. The power windows, locks, seats, and mirrors all work properly. The power convertible top raises and lowers with the touch of a button. The audio system appears to be working properly and sounds good through the factory speakers. There is a factory CD changer in the trunk. The climate control system appears to be working properly. The heater works well but the air conditioner will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The trunk is spacious and clean. Furnished is the original full sized spare, jack and tool kit, and the original convertible top cover. Again, please take your time and check out each of the photos carefully. The wood veneers are in great condition and this classic Jaguar comes with three sets of keys and two remotes. Additionally, this Jaguar has its original factory radar detector system, which still appears to be intact and functional.
Mechanically is where this Jaguar shines. The 4.0L inline six cylinder engine starts easily and runs smoothly. In fact, it runs so smoothly that I've forgotten the car was running before, while I was sitting in it. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. Her road manners are great for an older vehicle. The suspension feels tight and well sorted. Steering and braking feel good, too. The engine keeps perfect temperature and excellent oil pressure at all times. The ABS light stays on. The big six cylinder engine runs perfectly smooth and feels strong, just like it should. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. This old Jag is an absolute pleasure to drive. Despite being a full sized touring car, she handles curves with complete composure. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with absolutely no complaints. This XJS has a current PA safety and emissions inspection good through the end of December, 2019. This is a solid, solid car. The miles are low for the year and all the important stuff works perfectly. Everything I see that this car needs is purely cosmetic. You can easily drive it just the way it is and keep it original...or you can have the paint corrected and have an absolutely gorgeous classic Jaguar.
