This 1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Edition comes from the final year of XJS production and is finished in black over tan. The car was sold new in 1995 in New York and acquired in 1999 by the second owner in Indiana, who kept it until the previous owner bought it in 2012. Power comes from a 4.0-liter straight-six paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission. Service since 2011 included a new windshield, shock bushings, battery, brake rotors and pads, and more. This XJS is offered by the selling dealer with a clean Carfax, partial service records, and a clear Illinois title.
The Celebration Edition was released for the final two years of XJS production and included diamond-turned wheels, Jaguar-logo embossed seats, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel. The seller believes this example wears several repainted panels, though no accidents are noted on the Carfax. Scratches are noted on the body along with a dent in the chrome windshield trim. The windshield was recently replaced with an aftermarket piece. The black convertible top houses a glass window.
In 2012 the car was serviced with a new rear differential pinion seal, front brake pads and rotors, and front shock bushings. The rear brake pads, rotors, and parking shoes were replaced by a Jaguar dealership in 2017.
The tan leather interior features lighter-colored seats piping, walnut trim, and dual front airbags. Records show that the second owner had a rear quarter window motor replaced as well as the heater blower assembly.
Just over 49k miles are shown on the odometer, about half of which were added by the second owner between 1999 and 2012.
The 4.0-liter AJ16 inline-six received a coil-on-plug ignition system in 1994, and factory output was 237 horsepower when new. The seller conducted a fluid change and had a replacement battery installed in 2017, and the car was serviced at a Jaguar dealership with a new air pump and relay.
A folder with owner's booklets is shown above. The sale includes records from the second and third owners dating t0 2011.
The Carfax shows no accidents or other damage and reports registrations in New York, Illinois, and Indiana with three owners prior to the selling dealer.
