The car was purchased pre-certified as a 'Select Edition' vehicle by only its second owner on 2/8/1997 with only 15,910 miles at 'Putnam Jaguar' of Redwood City, California where it continued to be serviced and maintained and the car has always been owned since 1997 by that same California owner until we recently purchased the car from him. The car will be sold with all the 'Putnam Jaguar' service records and 'Desert European Motorcars', the Rolls Royce-Bentley-Jaguar' dealership of Rancho Mirage, California; where the car was serviced when at the owners second southern California Palm Springs desert home. These extensive and complete service records show that at no time was any expense spared on this particular vehicles preventive maintenance with the car always serviced on schedule.

The original factory 'Jade Green Mica' color paint is in beautiful condition and it is probably one of the most desirable and striking colors that these cars were ever built in. The original 'Parchment' color leather seats are also in outstanding condition with virtually no signs of any wear and there are no noticeable imperfections in the dashboard or the walnut veneer, the door panels or the carpets. The Black color soft top is also in exceptional condition. The interior is also completely original with it's 'Jaguar' radio/cassette stereo system and all the options and gauges are working.

The engine is extremely strong and smooth running with excellent oil pressure and which does not burn or leak oil. The temperature always remains cool and the car drives exactly like a virtually still new Jaguar with such low miles should - no shakes or rattles - very smooth and powerful - must drive the same as when it left the showroom floor over 20 years ago! This must be one of the finest looking examples available anywhere of this classic and increasingly desirable and collectible penultimate year for the Jaguar XJS convertibles - therefore proving a very collectible investment in probably the last classically beautiful design built by Jaguar in their long and famous history of classic lines - a sure-fire classic car investment for the Jaguar enthusiast or simply 'pride of place' in any astute classic car collector's collection!
