This 1995 Jaguar XJS convertible with only 39, 890 genuine miles is a fine example of the second to last year that this iconic Jag was built, fitted with the bullet proof straight 6 cylinder 4 liter engine, designated the AJ-16 with the fully electronic ignition system.

The 95 and 96 face lift versions encompassed all of the mechanical improvements that had plagued previous models especially the 5.3 V-12 that suffered lack luster low end performance.

This one with 240 BHP and 4 speed auto, with bags of torque is surprisingly agile bearing in mind its considerable curb weight.

The car drives beautifully smooth and quiet with no shakes or rattles and very comfortable on a long run. There is a very slight wind noise from the drivers side roof when driving with the top up at high speed.

We purchased this car nearly 3 years ago from a retired couple in Fort Lauderdale who had kept it for 8 years having themselves bought it from the first owner on Sanibel Island FL so its whole near 21 years have been in the warm south and not exposed to harsh corrosion causing weather conditions.

The black convertible roof is in excellent condition and works perfectly and I am sure it must have been replaced at some point which has been waterproofed well as beads of water will form on the canvas and roll off.

Overall the bodywork and paint are in excellent and original condition. It has had a repair done to the low lying valance under the front bumper. (Very common on this model as it is too easy to encounter high curbs) Still some slight damage and scrape only visible if you look from the underside

There are a few very minor dings on the body (see pictures) but hard to see unless you get close to scrutinize.

When we bought it in May 2013 there were some mechanical issues that required attention and I list the repairs and money invested done by a local euro auto specialist to bring it to its now full mechanical performance. In addition some of the leather interior required repair and I list that also. Some minor graining visible now on driver's and passenger seats, I have all receipts for the work done.

Major work done.

In all over $9,000 has been invested to make this a very well maintained and original Jaguar that will perform for many years to come.

Points to note.
1: The tires were chosen for their strong side wall integrity similar to the original Pirellis' that were factory fitted when new.

2: The ABS warning light remains on despite the auto specialist attempts to make it go out. The ABS works perfectly and they suggest it may be just an incompatible code after the ABS module was replaced.

3; The washer low level warning light stays on despite the bottle being full, again we suspect a switch relay not working.

4: There are 2 ignition keys but the fuel cap key is missing.
