1995 Jaguar XJS convertible 2+2, 4.0L engine, 22,897 miles. Classy sapphire blue with tan leather interior. Add-ons include wire wheels, wood facsimile steering wheel and gear shift knob; plus I had the Jaguar leaper installed on the hood. As is typical with the 1995 XJS, this car has an AM/FM radio with cassette and CD player, an automatic convertible top, cruise control, lumbar support, power seats and windows, rear defroster, ABS brakes, power locks and a tilt/telescopic wheel. Mechanically the car is excellent and the car would be in pristine condition except that the A/C does not work, there is a small tear in the leather in the back-seat area, and a small area of paint is faded on the driver's side of the door.
The XJS was originally introduced in 1975 and had a very long life for a specialty British grand tourer. The convertible joined the line-up for the first time in 1989. A year later, Jaguar was bought by Ford who gradually made changes to the XJS. The rear seat configuration was added in 1994. Gradual improvements were continued and by 1995, the reputation of Jaguar being a challenging car mechanically had disappeared.
Car is located in Lorton, Virginia.
