Sellers description:
Elegant and impeccably clean 1995 Jaguar XJS Convertible -- one of the last of the true grand touring cars. This car is a real gem - meticulously maintained, stored in a climate-controlled facility, and handled with the respect that a true classic deserves. Take a close look at the photographs to get a real appreciation of the quality of this classic. We have included images of the few very minor blemishes on this vehicle so that you can bid with absolute confidence that you will be getting a real head-turner that only gets better with age.

Drive Train
The XJS is powered by Jaguar's lively, reliable and economical 4.0-liter, 24-valve in-line 6-cylinder engine. The car starts perfectly and runs smoothly - never misses a beat at idle or acceleration. A new battery and fuel pump were installed last year.

The smooth-shifting automatic transmission has a sport mode that adds even more responsiveness to the XJS' lively performance.

Convertible Top & Boot
The convertible top and removable boot are in excellent condition with no discoloration, stains, cracks, rips or dryness. The power mechanism lowers and raises the top as it should.

Wheels & Tires
Wheels are clean and free of pits or other damage. Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires are nearly new.

Interior
Interior is exceedingly clean. Seats are clean and free of stains. Driver's side seat shows some wear (slight surface cracks on far left side, minor scratch on back support). Passenger seat has a couple of very slight surface cracks on far right side. Back seats are like new. Seat power mechanisms work fine.

Carpet shows minimal wear and has no stains. Beautiful burl wood counsel and dash look new.

All gauges function as they should. Original AM/FM/Stereo/Cassette sounds great, works perfectly. Power antennae works as it should.

Heat works great. A/C has just been recharged and blows good, cold air.

All glass is intact. Power windows work perfectly.

Body
Extremely clean body with no evidence of door dings, nicks or rust of any kind. There are only three minor blemishes we know of. The first is some subtle damage to the clear coat next to the gas cap (see photograph), which appears to have been touched up. It's only visible when you're right next to the gas cap. The second is a very, very slight scuff on the back right bumper (see photograph). The last is a small crack in the air dam underneath the front bumper, which is only visible if you're crouching down.

Trunk is clean, dry and shows no stains or wear.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
