This vehicle presently is not drivable. The engine passed a California Smog Inspection in November 2023. I purchased this vehicle in November 2023 because I needed a passenger door for another XJS. At the time I thought is a reasonable idea to keep the engine as a spare, therefore purchasing the entire car sounded good. Unfortunately, the original ad listed the car as a 1993 (which offered the 6.0 V-12). To my surprise, when the California registration was processed (I wanted to verify the passage of Smog) it was listed as a 5.3 liter V-12, 1992.
I removed and used the passenger door, but have no need for the rest of the car. The fenders, hood, trunk lit (with the desirable spoiler) are in good condition. The soft top, seats and other interior parts are, in my opinion, poor. Three of the tires have good treat but have difficulty holding air for long periods, possibly from sitting on a lot for a long period. I would not attempt to restore this car. The engine, transmission (GM 400 turbo 3-speed), fenders, hood and trunk lid are well worth the asking price.
