Ebay item 7/3/18 www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Jaguar-XJS-Convertible-No-engine-NO-RESERVE/372356312931
Opening bid US $1,350, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller paulsjag, 72k miles.
Sellers description:
We purchased this car following 14 years of dry storage, without immediately deciding what to do with it. Since acquiring the car, demand for our XJS Restoration work has increased 3-fold, and we needed the indoor storage space occupied by this 1990 Convertible.
A few weeks ago, we decided to part out the car in order to create more space for customers' cars. Resulting from the previous long-term storage, both the seats and Convertible top had dry-rotted almost to dust, so they were dumped. With a partially dismantled engine, we had no reason to keep it, therefore that too was dumped. As we worked our way towards the bodyshell, the obvious desirability of a complete rolling chassis/bodyshell became most apparent.
Dealing initially with the body, it's 100% rust and rot free in Jaguar's original Signal Red paint. Sure, there's a few dings here and there as you might expect, yet incredibly, the paint you see in our pictures has been untouched for 17 years, not even washed! All the tires that came with the car were completely dry-rotted, and the wheels and tires you see in our pictures are NOT those that will be included in the sale - we will however, find a suitable set which don't explode at the thought of being inflated.
We've come up with 2 lists - one of parts which are being included with the rolling shell, and the other which features parts which have already been removed or sold and are NOT included. We CANNOT guarantee that either list is 100% complete, so please call or email with any questions if you seek further confirmation of what 'is' or 'is not' included.
PARTS INCLUDED: basic body shell, trunk lid assembly, doors handles and locks, Front & rear suspension assemblies, entire braking system, wiper motor & wipers, windshield & surrounding chrome, tail lamp bodies, convertible top pump and plumbing, original Jaguar radio/cassette, interior as shown in pictures.
PARTS NOT INCLUDED: side glass & motors/regulators, main gas tank, instrument cluster, seats, upper radiator grille, rubber bumper covers and related chrome sections, radiator, engine, transmission, headlamps, steering rack, convertible top and frame, emblems, mirrors, door & rear quarter panels, visors, rear light lenses, engine ECU.
If you don't currently own an XJS Convertible donor car but are excited about putting this back together as a fun project, please call and discuss how we can assist with the missing parts to help you along, including throwing in the GM400 transmission. This car had a [now removed] TWR all around spoiler kit [eliminating chrome bumpers] which we will be offering soon on ebay - the winning bidder will also have the option to buy this kit prior to offering it for general sale.
