Ebay item 11/29/23

www.ebay.com/itm/145466823694

Opening bid $6,100, no bids, no reserve, 6 days left in auction, seller gljplc, 80k miles

Seller's description:

1992 FACTORY V-12 XJS JAGUAR CONVERTIBLE

Original 80,665 Miles on Odometer

This Jaguar V-12 (5.3L) Flamenco Red car is a great cruiser! NO overheating issues! I’ve been up to about 132 mph in her and she rides fine! Recently went to a Euro Car Show about 1.5 hours from my home and the Jag made a great drive there and back the next day – and she won best Jaguar Award !! I l love this Jag and the only reason I am selling her is that I bought a Ferrari Mondial Cabrio and I need the Jag’s garage spot when the Ferrari gets here ! The Jaguar has always been garaged. I’m not a dealer, just a small time collecto rwith very limited garage space. Check my 100% Ebay Rating since 1999.

MY IMPROVEMENTS. Since purchasing the Jag I have done thefollowing within the last year: new Chrome Jaguar Wheels and new Tires (less than 1,000 miles on both) & front end alignment; new Front Coil Springs (raised the Front end back up about 2 inches to stock ride height; 4 new Rear Shocks (the Front end had many new/recent parts on it when I got it but we did replace 1 idler arm); new Spark Plug Wires & Spark Plugs & a few new vacuum lines; new Oil & Filter change; new Battery (installed this week); new Wood Steering Wheel; new custom Wood Center Console piece with cupholders; new Maroon Carpet; new leather custom made Maroon & Blue Jaguar Seat, Headrest & Console covers; new custom JAGUAR maroon Floor Mats; new custom Jaguar Hood Insulator; new blue Top Boot Cover with a Union Jack flag on it; new Jaguar Trunk Spoiler; the Hood Repainted to match & the rest of the car received paint correction touch-up and compounding & polishing; new leaping Jaguar Hood Emblem; new XKE V-12 Emblems put on the car; new Jaguar Front Chin Spoiler; new Jaguar XK 140 Leather Bonnet/Hood Belts installed (you got to love the “racing” look those hood belts give a Jaguar); Exhaust System is good and I installed 2 new Polished Jaguar Exhaust Muffler/Silencers on the very back with new Chrome Dual Exhaust Splitters (one photo shows them); new European Front License Plate and front grill Jaguar Club Badges; new Jaguar Foglight Covers – have one spare foglight cover; yes,there is an Austin Powers bobblehead behind the seats that can be easily removed with two screws on the bottom;

CONDITION. Car has the original V-12 (as far as I can see) and she runs well and drives well ! NO overheating issues ! Convertible Top & Headliner are both in good shape andTop works well going up & down; Gauges - All gauges work & no warning lights are on (see the two dash photos with car running) – bulb or brake light may flashe for a second when you brake but the bulbs & brakes work fine; all Electrical Lighting is fine; Radio works (sometimes after sitting for weeks it has to warmup); Power Steering & Power Brakes work fine; Fan Blower for Heat AC works well; Cruise Control works off and on – I think it’s just a bad relay as I have jiggled the underhood relay before and got it to come on; all Air Conditioner components are present & the belt is on the AC compressor but I can’tget the compressor to come on – don’t know if it’s just a relay switch or low pressure in the lines – but I think it can be fixed – I just never drive with the top up so I didn't worry about it; all Power Windows work fine; Power Rear View Mirrors work fine; Power Antenna antenna goes up and down but when down has about 10 inches showing – can be seen in one photo; Spare tire - car has a correct Jaguar rim/wheel for the spare - just needs a tire on it; car comes with 2 Jaguar keys, all Owners Manuals, Radio Code card, and a 1992 Jaguar Dealership Brochure (see photos); also comes with a Jaguar Car Cover & original Tan colored Top Boot and original factory Jaguar Steering Wheel;

BODY is in great shape – solid and nothing but superficial rust underneath (car is 31 years old);

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
