Seller's description:
1992 Jaguar XJS Cabriolet V12
Colour White
Odometer 55,633 Miles
Engine size 5300
Auction DetailsSeller Type Trade
Town Waalwijk
Country Netherlands
Low mileage V12 in desirable colour combination
Solid, presentable car ideal for light improvement work
Facelift car with improved quality and galvanised body
One of the last 5.3litre HE V12 cars
Great interior with few signs of wear
VIN records indicate that this is a late 1991 car rather than a ‘92
Fitted with the classic trapezoidal XJS headlamps rather than the US market quad lamps
The vendor says that it is solid and presentable but requires some light attention
3 owners
USA car with US title
The 5.3litre V12 was superceded by the rare 6litre in 1992, making this one of the last smaller engined V12s
There is no service history with the car
The XJS was lightly facelifted in May 1991:
On convertibles this is limited to the rear light treatment
The interiors were lightly made over with new switchgear
The Interior
Well preserved and nicely specified in dark blue with grey carpets
The condition of the interior and boot indicates careful ownership
Seats in good condition, particularly the bolsters
Very slight sheen and wear on the driver’s seat
Seat condition appears to confirm the low mileage displayed
Heated and electric seats
Rear load area with large cubby box
Grey carpets in good condition with factory over mats in blue
Facelift specification dials with wood veneer surround
Veneers in great condition with no delamination or flakes visible
Airbag LHD model
Door cards are very presentable with fittings and veneers in good condition
Cruise control
Original Jaguar radio cassette system
Centre console ‘ski slope’ in good condition with no visible cracks in the veneer
Grey boot trim unstained and well maintained
The speedometer appears not to be working
The Exterior
Tasteful white bodywork nicely contrasts with the blue interior
Bodywork is solid and presentable with no visible corrosion
Paintwork would likely benefit from a polish and wax regime to restore its shine and depth
Chromework in good condition
XJS trademark headlamps in good condition, with just light misting
Factory lattice wheels appear to be polished with some deterioration of the rims
Alloys have been painted black in the centre which is not factory standard
Fitted with quality Cooper Cobra tyres
The bodywork is generally free of scuffs except the nearside front wing above the bumper
Dark blue canvas roof in good condition and appears to work correctly
Rear centre high level brake light
Chromework generally good
Front lower valance appears to be distorted or scuffed on the nearside front corner
Front fog lights
Underside appears to be very good
There are a few minor scuffs underneath and chips in the underseal but it is very presentable
The Mechanics
5.3litre Jaguar V12 ‘HE’ fuel injected specification engine
285 bhp
3spd automatic gearbox
There is no service history with this vehicle
Engine bay looks remarkably clean and with good pipework
