ON EBAY 2007
89,000 MILES
SELLER WRITES:

Vehicle Description

I purchased this vehicle on Ebay on April 15, 2002, and had it shipped from LaQuinta

California to my home in Orlando, Florida. The previous owner was a physician out there.

My winning bid was $10,500. Since then, I have spent more than the purchase price to

bring this car to its peak condition, and it truly is in great shape. I'm a rather fussy guy

about keeping things in the best workng order, regardless of cost, because I don't like

unpleasant surprises, especially on the road. I'm realistic enough to know that I could

never recover what I have in the car, but will be happy with a small portion of it.

The reason I am selling the car is due to my age. I'm approaching my 86th birthday

and finding it more difficult to get in and out of the car. If I were a younger man and

more agile, no way would I be selling it. I just love this classic beauty! It is the

prettiest car on the road and garners so many compliments from other drivers,

particularly when they stop next to you at a red light. "What year is that?" and

"Sure is a pretty car". You hear them whenever it's on the road. It just gets better with

age.

This my second XJS. I bought a new 1987 XJSC in Chicago in 1987 and put 90,000

miles on it before the electric problems drove me batty. It was a pre Ford car and

noted for such problems. I finally gave up on it but still loved the style and 12 cylinder

performance. When I spotted this car on Ebay, it was almost a clone of of my first

and I decided I had to have it.

Here is some of what I have done with the car:

New Perelli tires - new leather seats - new top cover - trunk repainted due to sun

spots - new compressor for air conditioning (plenty of cold air) - replace valve cover

gaskets, distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, injector hoses and

and seals, w/s tank cover, radiator caps, engine coolant reservoir, rear brake pads,

differential pinion seal, transmission mount spring and bushing, steering rack

bushings. Resealed rear brake calipers and wheel alignment. Replaced power

steering rack. I have the service records for verification.

The car has a nice security feature - a hidden, motor disabling switch which makes

it impossible to start the car.

There is a new , spare battery in the trunk and the well behind the seats contains

a lot of road emergency equipment, all of which goes with the car. It has always

been garaged and covered, as the photo shows. The car cover also stays with the

car. I can assure the next owner a lot of carefree driving without any unpleasant

surprises.

I'll probably shed a tear when I see this car driven away from my home but will

take some comfort in knowing that someone else will be enjoying and appreciating

it as much as me. So, bid with confidence that you are making a decision you will

not regret.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
