Car is for sale on ebay:

1992 Jaguar XJS 1992 JAGUAR XJS CONVERTIBLE California car (Always)

Mileage: 134,000 miles

Location: Camarillo, California

For your consideration is this 1992 XJS Jaguar 12 cylinder convertible. The original owner was Heather Locklear who purchased the car new at Silver Star Motors in Westlake Village, California. We purchased the car in June of 1995 also through Silver Star and are the third owners. (The second owners had the car for approximately one year but had to sell it when they had a baby.) The car has spent its whole life in Ventura County, has always been covered and garaged, and has been meticulously maintained both mechanically and cosmetically with preventive care being a must. It is very, very clean. The car runs smoothly and powerfully; the transmission shifts at the appropriate points and all the power options (top, windows, etc.) work as they should. The a/c is cold and the heat works just fine. The panel fit is to factory specifications. The car runs very well with no bottoming out or sloppy handling. We have all records from 1995 to the present.

The top was replaced several years ago (as were all the hoses) and is in excellent condition; the windshield was replaced 18 months ago. It has Pirelli P 600 tires with about 90% of tread life left. The water pump was replaced at 131,000 miles, and at the same time, the harmonic balancer. Replacement of the two thermostats, and engine drive belts were done at 126,000 miles; ignition rotor, distributor cap and rear shocks were done at 126,000 miles. Plus all maintenance as required by Jaguar and the car. Its has never been hit and all body numbers match. There is one minor door ding, and a couple of very small paint chips. I have kept the paint glossy and smooth. There is a boot for when the is top down; it is like new and gives a dash of real elegance to the car. It is the same color as the top. The car's colors are designated by Jaguar as Topaz for the paint, Magnolia for the interior.

We live in a rural area of citrus groves so the car does not have "hidden" miles from being in long-standing city traffic; my wife has been the only driver. She drives it, I wash it. Always hand-washed and waxed, it's never been through a car wash. Our reason for selling the car is we've sold our desert house and suddenly have this plethora of cars. I'll happily cooperate in having the car checked out if it is within a reasonable distance, just let me know where. The car received a clear smog certification six weeks ago for its annual license renewal and passed on the first attempt. The reserve price has been reduced from $5000 to $3900.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
