Car returns to ebay 2/14/25
Car has a buy it now price of $2,950 for 29 days, seller retro-treasure-seeker 108k miles, car now in Fresno, California.
Seller's description:
This sale is for an amazing original factory black Jaguar XJS convertible that has had its V12 engine and transmission removed and is ready for a Chevy LS or conventional small block conversion.
This is a rust-free California car that has been garage stored since 2014 when the original V12 engine died. The engine and transmission were removed by a shop last year but rebuilding the V12 was unfeasible at a cost of $20k.
I purchased it and bought engine mounts to do a Chevrolet small block conversion but have now decided to pass it on as California smog laws have got too strict on engine swaps. Most states do not have such roadblocks.
The paint is still in decent condition and the body has a few small dents that a paintless dent repair specialist could fix.
The brightwork is excellent and so is the Convertible top and glass. The tires have no miles on them and are dated 2022 production.
The interior is in good condition apart from the seats that will need recovering. It has an aftermarket am/fm CD stereo.
I put a battery in the car to test the electrical system and the lights, turn signals, stereo and ignition lights all came on.
This Jaguar comes with one set of keys, a clean title and a top boot cover that matches the interior.
This could be a fun and relatively easy project for anyone who doesn't have to deal with California smog laws. A Jaguar XJS convertible with a chevy V8 is a perfect combination.
