Lot #123305

This 1993 Jaguar XJS convertible was initially delivered to British Motor Car Distributors in San Francisco, California, and it has remained in that state following its acquisition by the current owner in October 2019. The car is powered by a 4.0-liter inline-six paired with a five-speed manual transmission and is finished in Signal Red over Barley leather upholstery. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, fog lights, a power-retractable beige soft top, 15″ basketweave alloy wheels, heated power-adjustable seats, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control. This XJS convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a window sticker, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in Signal Red and features a power-retractable beige soft top as well as fog lights, dual exhaust outlets, and a telescoping antenna.

The 15″ basketweave alloy wheels are mounted with 235/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The cabin features heated power-adjustable seats upholstered in Barley leather. Interior amenities include an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a trunk-mounted six-disc CD changer, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,700-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 34k miles, approximately 750 of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.0-liter inline-six was factory rated at 219 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque. Coolant hoses and the heater control valve were replaced in November 2019. The seller notes that the coolant overflow tank is leaking.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to British Motor Car Distributors in San Francisco, California, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total suggested retail price of $57,740.

Opening bid $30,000, 0 bids, 9 days left in auction, buy it now price $35,000, seller continental45, 34k miles, car now in Huntsville, Texas

Seller's description:

Up for bid is a beautiful and unique 1993 Jaguar XJS Convertible, 4.0 Liter 219 HP 273 Ft/LBS torque inline-six cylinder paired with a very rare factory 5-speed manual transmission in Signal Red and Barley Interior. While I don't know the exact number of 1993 Jaguar XJS vehicles with manual transmission imported to the U.S., less than 70 seems to be an accurate figure.

Includes limited slip differential, fog lights, power retractable beige soft top, 15" basket weave alloy wheels, heated power-adjustable sports seats, cruise control, automatic climate control, and 4-speaker 80 watt am/fm Audio system with cassette player and multiple CD player.

This beautiful XJS has 34,500 miles and comes with owner's manual, service manual, spare parts (including a very hard to find clutch kit), clean Carfax report, original window sticker, service records from 1993, and a clean Texas title in the seller's name. Additionally, this XJS features a Jaguar growler hood emblem, dual exhaust outlets, and a power telescoping antenna.

The exterior paint has undergone professional paint correction and ceramic coating. While the paint is not perfect it is in outstanding condition with only a few imperfections. There is no rust!

The cabin is equipped with heated power-adjusted sports seats trimmed in Barley leather (like new condition with no imperfections), wood trim on the dashboard, door panels and center console.

New/recent maintenance includes new Interstate battery, new beige top (from Paul's Jaguar), new headliner (from Paul's Jaguar), coolant expansion tank (sourced from SNG Barrett), power antenna (sourced from SNG Barrett), spark plugs and spark plug wires (sourced from SNG Barrett), Air filter, oil and oil filter (sourced from SNG Barrett), air conditioning condenser, heater core, a/c valve (sourced from Paul's Jaguar), and R-134 refrigerant. A/C blows cold.

All components operate as if new. This is a unique opportunity to become the new owner of a low mileage, meticulously maintained, rare 5-speed beauty.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
