This 1986 Jaguar XJ-S has been registered in Georgia at least since 1993 and was acquired in 2003 by the seller. It subsequently underwent a multi-year mechanical and cosmetic refurbishment through 2011 which is said to have involved installing a fuel-injected Chevy small-block 383ci stroker V8, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, Sanderson exhaust headers, and a mandrel-bent 2.5″ exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers as well as a repaint in black and a refresh of the interior. The car is further equipped with a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, 17″ Foose wheels, air conditioning, and a custom sound system with MB Quart speakers. This XJS is offered with manufacturer’s literature, service manuals, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The car is said to have received a glass-out refinish in black using single-stage Sikkens paint. The chrome trim was also replaced, and additional exterior details include front fog lights, a Leaper hood ornament, and rear SS badging. The sunroof motor needs service and has been disconnected.
The 17″ Foose wheels are mounted with 235/45 Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The brake calipers are said to have been refurbished with Brembo seals and pistons, and also powder-coated.
The seats are trimmed in replacement Connolly leather according to the seller, and the air-conditioned cabin has a sound system with a Pioneer Premier Series head unit, a JL Audio amplifier, MB Quart speakers, Monster wire cables, and bass drivers sealed in the rear quarter panels. A power capacitor has been installed. Cruise control was factory-equipped but is currently nonfunctional.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer with a six-digit mechanical odometer showing 88k miles. Mileage inconsistencies are listed in March 2019 and November 2022 entries on the Carfax report linked below. The seller reports that approximately less than 10k miles have been added since the refurbishment was completed in 2011.
Installed with a conversion kit from John’s Cars Inc. of Dallas, Texas, the 383ci stroker V8 has port fuel injection and speed-density engine management per the seller, who also notes four-bolt main bearing caps, a Howards Cams roller camshaft, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, Sanderson exhaust headers, and a mandrel-bent 2.5″ exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers.
The seller reports that the powertrain is completed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a Dana differential with 3.30:1 gearing.
