Sellers description:
1988 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Convertible with 64K miles ... maybe a bit more at time of sale. In great shape, runs great. Fast and smooth. Fairly new tires ... Pirelli P4000s. Good brakes. This car is really nice for being 23 years old. This is my fifth Jag. New woodwork on console ... beautiful. Convertible top has two very small cracks/tears ... no problem as this car rarely sees wet weather. Garaged all the time. Fast! Smooth! Jaguar did not make a convertible in 1988 but due to high demand authorized Hess & Eisenhardt (U.S.) to convert cabriolet models to convertibles for the American market. I believe only 650 of these cars were made for model years 1987-88. To find one in the beautiful condition as this would be difficult. The Powerful V-12 engine produces fantastic performance. This car has always been garage-kept and has been babied for the twelve years I've owned it! The paint is in great condition with a very minor bubble beginning to appear in an inconspicuous place under the headlight ... an easy fix. Leather is very good. Carpeting is very good. Almost everything works correctly on this car and the mileage is accurate. Needs a new antenna motor and a few tweaks here and there with the window wiring ... no problems - they all work ... it's just that an experience auto electrician could secure the wiring better. I'd also change the distributor cap and plugs as it's been a while and I suspect there's a small break somewhere as starting is a bit slow when the humidity gets high. Go figure. It's a Jaguar from England where it always rains. Anyway, it's not a big deal to replace the cap and wires. I had Jagaur replace the radiator several years ago ... which as anyone who knows anything about V12 Jags will tell you, is a must for this vehicle ... and now ... this car NEVER OVERHEATS! You might want to recharge the AC unit. I have hardly ever used it. If a nicer example exists anywhere, I haven't seen it. This description is honest and truthful.
