Ebay item 6/28/11 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/San-Diego-Car-No-Reserve-/270772495429
Current bid $1,225, 19 bids 4 days left in auction, no reserve. 167k miles.
Sellers description:
I have owned this car since 1990 when I purchased it as the second owner. I am selling it now, without a reserve, primarily because I have four Jags and limited parking space. It was driven daily for many years and I now drive it occasionally on weekends. It starts easily and runs great. It passed its California smog test in 2009 with ease. It was repainted in 1995 and still shows well. The interior is Naugahyde, vs. the original leather, and is in very good condition. This is an accident-free car that has spent its entire life in the San Diego area.
I have performed most of the maintenance and repairs over the past 20+ years and have all receipts and records over the life of the car. Within the past ~10K miles, I have installed the following:
Timing-chain tensioner and chain
Re-cored radiator
High-torque starter
Stainless steel coolant expansion tank
Heated oxygen sensors
Front and rear shocks
The following items need attention:
The heater/AC system blows, but not cold. All components are in place.
The transmission was rebuilt at ~65K miles. While it shifts well, it provides no braking downhill in second gear. It also has a leak, either from the input-shaft seal or shifter-shaft seal.
The cruise control does not work. I have some of the parts needed to put it in working order.
There are several body rattles and suspension clunks that are noticeable when driving over speed bumps or pot holes.
The power door locks no longer work. I have replacement solenoids for the repair.
The driver-side carpet is worn and the seat cushion is soft.
Some of the paint has begun to lift along body curves (see highlights in photos)
This has been a great car for me over the years and, despite its mileage, is still an eye catcher.
