ON EBAY 02/07
70,208 MILES
SELLER WRITES:
1988 Jaguar XJS V12 Hess & Eisenhardt convertible, Olde English White exterior with fawn top and leather interior. Condition is overall VG with only 70,208 original miles. The body is very clean with no damage or rust. Top has 4 very small tears or pin holes and leather seats are in VG condition. The 5.3L V12 engine is strong (292 hp) and smooth with no vibration, and engine bay is very clean. Custom floor mats show some wear. Dash looks good and the burl wood trim on the dash and doors is in very good condition. Gauges work with the exception of the fuel gauge.
The convertible electric top mechanisms work well. The 1988 XJS was the last year for custom coach-builders “Hess and Eisenhardt” 2-seater convertible. The 1989 XJS factory convertible top when closed sticks up about 12 inches and does not lay flush with the car body like the Hess version does.
This car is completely original (i.e., exterior paint, leather seats and carpeting, and convertible top) and will qualify for the “Preservation Class” in just one more year at any JCNA sanctioned Concours event.
There are very few examples of these exclusive V12 convertibles still around. It is good-looking convertible with lots of V12 cache. This is a 2-owner car, which has been well taken care of and it shows. Maintenance records included as well as the full set of owners manuals. If you want a sharp looking 2-seat GT with V12 cache, then this would be a nice one to get.
If you have any questions about the Jaguar, I will be glad to answer them. The car has a very low reserve, so good luck bidding.
