Car returns to ebay 2/2/22
Opening bid US $5,000, no reserve, no bids 6 days left in auction, seller worthington2889, 69k miles.
Seller's description:
11+ year owner of this Jaguar XJ-S factory commissioned convertible conversion by Hess & Eisenhardt
I have personally worked on this car in my spare time using information from various online jaguar forums, notably the well known resource book written by Kirby Palm. Nearly all receipts and photos/videos logged throughout. Some work:
Hand made injector wiring harness.
Distributor machined to fix well known seizing issue.
All new NKG spark plugs indexed.
Radiator recored and all associated piping renewed with Tefba filters installed.
Hand made door handle after driver door's original pot tin metal broke.
Gas tanks pulled and cleaned (intent on replacing in future with reman'd design)
New ECU.
Currently in middle of an a/c upgrade to a quieter compressor.
The 5 spoke set of chrome wheels were bought mid 2020 from northern salt road states off of a 95 XJS, so they have some excessive peeling. By themselves they're worth some value.
Tachometer stopped working a few months ago, and recently after upgrading dash lights with LEDs, speedometer stopped working.
I have not focused much on the aesthetics of the car. It could use a new paint job and interior work.
Average mpg on the highway is 20+ on premium unleaded.
No warranties in my work expressed or implied. I have placed 7,000 miles on this car myself on various trips ranging from College Station to Galveston.
For 10 years plus, I've had a hobby, simply getting ready for my next project but only have a one bay garage.
