Opening bid US $5,000 reserve not met 0 bids 6 days left in auction, buy it now price $24,750 seller amvtrading 41k miles.

Seller's description:
1988 Jaguar XJS Hess & Eisenhardt Convertible
We are pleased to offer this 1988 Jaguar XJS Hess and Eisenhardt Convertible, with ONLY 41k miles with ORIGINAL PAINT AND INTERIOR!

You probably will not find another with less miles and better original condition ! As part of the Jaguar line of luxury and performance, it is equipped with a 5.3 liter V12 engine and a four speed automatic transmission. This V12 engine gives you all the power when needed and is even more fun when you open it up on the road. The drive and comfort is what you would expect out of a Classic Jaguar, but the best part about this particular car is the fun factor. Come drive this rare, classic weekend cruiser and enjoy it top down!

This 1988 Jaguar XJS features a period convertible conversion by Ohio-based coach builder Hess & Eisenhardt and is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. The car spent most of its Yuma Arizona, where it was acquired by the seller from its second owner in 2017. This XJS shows 41k miles

Hess & Eisenhardt convertibles were commissioned by Jaguar and built between 1986 and 1988. Features included two separate fuel tanks positioned to allow the roof to retract, steel reinforcements behind the driver’s seat, and 20 lb. weights behind the headlights to eliminate harmonic resonance. This example is finished in anthracite-gray-metallic- Both interior and exterior of the jaguar is still all original. and the jaguar shows no accidents or other damage.

Factory 15″ Starfish wheels The tan soft top features a heated glass rear window. Additional features of the conversion include powered rear quarter windows, a carpeted package shelf, and a matching top cover.

The interior is trimmed in Gray leather with matching console and door panels and wood accents. A wood-rimmed 3-spoke Nardi steering wheel has been fitted in place of the factory 2-spoke wheel.

The 6-digit odometer reads just under 41k miles. Instrumentation, controls, and cabin materials can be viewed in detail in the gallery below. The seller notes the air conditioning system does not blow cold.

The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 263 horsepower with 278 lb-ft of torque for the US market and is paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. A stack of receipts documenting past maintenance is included in the sale.

People who know Jaguars realize this is a special machine. That's because there were no factory XJS full convertibles before 1989. This one is from when coach builder Hess & Eisenhardt were authorized by Jaguar to create special drop top version of their luxury sports car. So when you're looking for distinction, this is already one of likely less than 1, 000 crafted by the coach builder. Distinction is exactly why you want an XJS in the first place. The long hood and the low-slung body were subtle hints at the company's sporting history.

Inside, Jaguar proves its reputation for craftsmanship and style. trim to make one of the most attractive interiors of the decade. cruise control, power locks, telescoping wheel, and the factory AM/FM/cassette stereo. top, so you never have to leave the driver's seat to go from enclosed luxury to a wind-in-your-hair experience. Because there are also heated seats you can stay comfortable with the top-down any time of year.
This car's original 5.3 liter V12 engine provides the kind of effortless performance that you'd expect from Coventry's biggest cat. It has a smooth and torquey feeling that makes it effortlessly luxurious around town. But when it's time to have a little fun, it makes a wonderful howl and pulls like a freight train. The transmission is the familiar three-speed automatic sourced from GM, so you know it has the robustness to handle the V12's power with ease. But this is more than just a good drivetrain. The XJS runs on a fully independent suspension that has been built to balance luxury cruising with spirited driving. This is reinforced by power steering, four-wheel disc brakes.
