Ebay item 9/4/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Jaguar-XJS-Coupe-/282637406902
Opening bid US $3,000 reserve not met no bids 6 days left in auction, seller pre-eclectic, 63k miles.
Sellers description:
Reluctantly selling the very clean and original 1985 Jaguar XJ-S that I've owned for the last 14 years because I've lost garage space and don't want to keep it outside. I'm the second owner. This car has been garaged, not smoked in, and meticulously maintained since new, first by the Jaguar dealer, then by a British car specialist, and finally by a Jaguar enthusiast (me). Since this is the HE (High Efficiency) model, it has better gas mileage and drivability than earlier models and is less complex than later models. This car was produced during a period of very high demand for XJ-S's, and the original owner actually paid $1400 OVER invoice, but it made it out of the dealer's showroom just as Jaguar built it, without the dealer add-ons (side rub bars, dealer-installed sunroof, etc.) that ended up on many of the cars of this vintage. It features:
· Original Sebring Red paint with no rust or accident damage
· Original 5.3 liter aluminum V-12 engine that has required nothing but routine maintenance for 32 years/63,000 miles
· Original automatic transmission, also trouble-free
· Original Biscuit leather that remains supple with no cracking or tears
· Original Wood in excellent condition
· Original Carpets which have been protected since new
· Headliner was replaced with the correct broadcloth several years ago when the foam backing began to fail
· Original Monroney sticker
· Original (optional) Jaguar tool kit, missing the pliers and screwdriver, but with the appropriate mix of metric and standard wrenches
· Original owner's manuals
· Original fog light covers
· A/C, heat, cruise control, lights, wipers, gauges, power windows, power door locks that all function as they should
· The car runs, drives, and stops as an XJ-S should
· Receipts and maintenance records since new
There are two modifications, both easily reversible:
· Sometime shortly after buying the car, the original owner installed the BBS wheels it's currently wearing. I liked the look, so I kept them, but the original starfish wheels, which have been kept in dry storage and are in very good condition, come with the car. The spare is mounted on an original wheel.
· After I bought the car I replaced the radio/cassette player with the current Pioneer radio/aux/CD player. The original unit, which was working fine when I removed it, is included with the car, along with the blanking plate and carrying case for the detachable radio face. Because I slightly enlarged the cut-out in the dash to accommodate the new unit, I'm including an unmodified panel in case the old radio is re-installed.
There are two flaws you should be aware of:
· At one point in the past a ham-fisted state inspection mechanic tried to lift the front end of the car using the standing seams on the sills instead of the correct jacking points, bending the seams but not distorting the sills.
· Both the sills and the front of the bonnet have some stone chips, but none of the areas show any rust.
If you're looking for a clean, well-maintained original XJ-S, I don't think you'll find a better one. I've owned several V-12 XJ-S's and XJ's, and this has been the best of them by far.

Opening bid $9,500 reserve not met 0 bids, 9 days left in auction, seller the-jag-guy2, car now in Campbell, California, 67k miles.
Seller's description:
Absolutely gorgeous, close to mint, collector quality 1985 Jaguar XJS coupe. Fabulous red exterior over sumptuous biscuit leather interior. Runs and drives well and it should – the car only has 67k original miles. It’s a true time capsule from the 80’s- would you believe this is the original paint? There is no body damage or rust anywhere and the underside is clean and crisp. It has been driven and loved by the current owner for the last several years but he needs to slim down his collection a bit. These cars are rapidly going up in value and this is a great time to catch a fabulous one before it’s gone. It is almost certain you won’t see another like it in the near future, if ever. Jump in and drive it anywhere. Has a clean clear California title and current registration. Ready to be added to your collection- a classic you can also enjoy.

This 1985 Jaguar XJS coupe is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in red over tan leather. Features include air conditioning, a Kenwood head unit, cruise control, electric windows, a Nardi steering wheel, and 15” BBS wheels. The car spent time in Oregon, Pennsylvania, and California before it was acquired by the current owner in 2017. This XJS shows 68k miles and is being offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with an accident-free Carfax report and a California title in the owner’s name.
The bodywork is finished in Sebring Red, and exterior features include quad headlamps, a front lip spoiler, chrome side mirrors, Hella H4 headlight bulbs, and front fog lamps. There are rock chips on the nose of the car, paint imperfections on the trunk lid, and crazing on the hood and fenders.
BBS 15” basketweave-style wheels feature gold centers and are mounted with 215/70 Goodyear Assurance tires that were installed in 2017. Braking is through discs at all four corners. The car rides on Bilstein B6 shock absorbers, and the seller notes that the rear suspension cage mounts and front suspension subframe mounts have been recently replaced. The tie rod ends were replaced in 2017.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in Biscuit leather, while wood trim accents the dashboard and door panels. Amenities include a Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth connectivity, a trip computer, air conditioning, cruise control, and electric windows. The blower resistor and switch were replaced in January 2019.
A Nardi three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 68k miles, around 5k of which have been added during current ownership.
The 5.3-liter V12 was factory rated at 291 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. Work completed in January 2019 included the replacement of the thermostat, water pump, oil pressure sender, crankshaft seal, ignition module, and oxygen sensor.
Catalytic converters were installed in 2017.
