1986 Jaguar XJS - less than 68K original miles. Purchased the car over 4 years ago at the Auburn, IN auction, and have since put less than 9K miles on it. was looking for a Jensen, but none there, and the body and inside of this car was so good I could not pass it up. Very good running Jag - I have receipts for many items such as new shock (6) new springs all the way around as well as polyurethane bushings for the front...ties rods - everything except for the lower a-arm bushings which are still fine. New front spoiler, new headliner professionally installed, and 4 brand new Bridgestone's with less than 500 miles on them. NEW ALUMINUM radiator - high flow and expensive; all the parts around it I had powder-coated, and installed factory correct labels. New engine parts - fuel pressure regulators, oil pressure sending units. New transmission cable even. One respray about 3 years ago Code LEG which was the original color - like a steel metallic, really sharp. I bought this car as it had no rust - but a few dings which were repaired when it was painted. there is one small nick on the driver's side fender that you have to look for. Interior good condition - no rips, tears, etc. but some wear on the LH set bolster....minor chaffs on the edge of the console on the driver's side. Car is mostly original, and I have most of the original parts that were replaced, including the radiator. Had mats with the Jaguar logo put in less than one year ago. Starts and runs great - get about 16-17 mpg on the highway. love the car - enjoyed working on it but no time anymore. Everything works except for the A/C - I have a rebuilt compressor but I don't think the issue is major - heat, vent and all flaps work as they should. Aftermarket CD and improved speakers installed in the original spots - and the antenna goes up and down fine. All gauges and warning lights work. I have many receipts from myself and the previous owner....along with the original owner's manual and the little cassette about the "Jaguar Experience". I also have repair manuals in book form and CD, along with the KIRBY PALM bible of Jaguar XJS's which I will give to the winner. The license plate on the front is from a MGC I bought from Scotland many years ago, and it looked good on the Jag so there it is.
Needs A/C checked, and my next project was rear brakes and seals.......did the front and just did not get time this winter to do the back - I have brand new subframe mounts to be included. Fronts have newer rotors and pads. I believe the exhaust is original as well - and is not in bad shape at all. Car is not perfect, but is a VERY presentable driver. car is very quiet and lots of torque. I owned and restored 4 MGs before purchasing this Jag......and I am going to miss this car - get lots of attention, especially when people want to see the V12. with all the new suspension goodies installed this car handles great! for a big car it will definitely hold the road.
