Ebay item 10/25/17
www.ebay.com/itm/1985-Jaguar-XJS-Custom/292305766504
Current bid US $5,000 reserve not met 1 bid 6 days left in auction, seller hatford1, 176k miles.
Sellers description:
1985 Custom Jaguar XJS V12 Coupe
This is a trophy winning, very good condition, always garaged, great looking, one of a kind XJS. No dents, no scratches, no rust. Only a very few, very small chips from driving. It's lowered, has a stronger suspension than a stock XJS and drives very well (doesn't like some of the really bumpy California roads though).
The car's dash says 176,000 miles, but it's really only 50,000 miles as that's when all the work on it started.
It's mechanical and body work was done by top, very skilled, very knowledgeable workers. Almost all of the mechanical part of the car, most of it is stock, has been rebuilt or replaced with new parts. It's always been taken care of when needed.
I have all the receipts for the work done on the car since the day I got it twenty three years ago. They're all in a 230 page binder that will be yours when you buy the car.
Here's a very small list of things that were done on the car (Miles are just approximant, not exactly:
50,000 miles ago: A 1988 V12 engine was completely rebuilt (except the fuel injection part) with new parts
50,000 miles ago: Installed new front & back XJSR springs
48,000 miles ago: New, upgraded steering rack was installed
39,000 miles ago: New front brakes and rotors were installed
34,000 miles ago: New fuel injectors, gaskets & seals were installed
30,000 miles ago: New AC compressor was installed
20,000 miles ago: New front & back shocks were installed
18,000 miles ago: Rebuilt transmission was done
11,000 miles ago: New exhaust system was installed
10,000 miles ago: New alternator was installed
2,000 miles ago: Rewired the dash instruments
There was a lot more work done in the last 50,000 miles and lot's of dollars (over $80,000) paid. You will be able to see it all in the receipt book.

This 1985 Jaguar XJS is powered by a replacement 5.3L V12 mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission and has been modified with newer paint, color-matched bumpers, door handle and wiper deletes, a lowered ride height, custom wheels, and more. The seller has driven the car approximately 500 miles over the course of a yearlong ownership, and has kept it garaged when not on the road. This XJS is offered with build documentation, maintenance records dating back two decades, an accident-free Carfax report, and a clean Oregon title in the seller's name.
The car was repainted metallic gold in 2007, and the bumper trim is finished to match. The windshield wipers, stock side mirrors, body moldings, and door handles have all been shaved, with the latter replaced by remote door actuators.
The car sits lower than stock with shocks and springs donated from an XJR-S, while a set of 17″ Boyd Coddington wheels shod in Hankook Ventus V12 EVO rubber makes up the rolling stock.
Interior appointments include grey leather seating, matching carpets, and burl wood trim. Custom touches include a Nardi steering wheel, pin striping on the the center console, a Kenwood cassette radio, AutoMeter auxiliary gauges, and a polished fire extinguisher. The primary instruments have been rewired per the seller. Approximately 178k miles are reportedly shown on odometer, 500 of which have been added under current ownership.
The trunk is outfitted with a custom spare tire mount and cover, battery enclosure, leather-lined sidewalls, and a carpeted load floor.
A 5.3L V12 donated from a 1988 XJS with 124k miles was installed in 1999. The engine and TH400 3-speed transmission were reportedly rebuilt along with several newer part replacements as detailed below:
Engine rebuild ~50k miles ago
New fuel injectors, gaskets, and seals ~30k miles ago
New air conditioning compressor ~20k miles ago
Transmission rebuild ~11k miles ago
New exhaust ~10k miles ago
New alternator ~2k miles ago
The seller makes note of a transmission leak that leaves a few drops on the floor overnight.
