1986 Jaguar XJS . Condition is Used. This car is currently located in Westport, MA 02790. This is the perfect time to buy a classic V12 Jaguar coupe! Gas is cheap and I do not think these beautiful cars will remain so inexpensive for much longer! A search of these vehicles on eBay is showing that that prices are indeed on the rise!
I have not driven this car very much during the past several years I have owned it. Now my interests have shifted towards a similar XJS V12 coupe that I have recently acquired with a 5 speed, so this car is going.. When I first got it, it had been off the road for a while. Initially I did some brake work including a rebuilt master and caliper. I have also installed a rebuilt alternator.
The strong points of this particular XJS HE are: It is a V12 Jaguar coupe, offered for a mere fraction of an E type! This cat has none of the typical rust rust that these cars often have, especially here in New England. It runs smooth and shifts as it should and has very nice leather seats, front and back, all good glass, exhaust, battery, radio, heat, fan, turn signals, headliner and brakes. All bumpers and trim are good and this car does not appear to have ever been crashed. The spare tire, cover, jack and lug wrench and carpeted bag for same are present.
The detractions of this car are as follows: 1) The paint is somewhat burnt on the top surfaces and although clearly presentable, it is simply not as good as it looks in the photographs. 2) The drivers door power window is inoperable. 3) The AC has been removed, however all removed components come with the car. 4) Several gages are currently inoperable, including the speedometer. 5) The varnish on the interior wood trim should be refinished. 6) The parking brake needs work or adjustment. There my be other minor detractions as well, but I have not paid this car much attention lately, which is a truly just another reason why it should go to a new owner.
