Car to be at auction 11/09
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

Auction description:
Sale 17333 - Classic California, Important Motorcycles, Motorcars and Memorabilia, 14 Nov 2009
The Petersen Automotive Museum, Los Angeles, CA
Lot No: 412•

One owner from new, picked up in Coventry, 30,202 miles from new
1989 Jaguar XJS Convertible
Chassis no. SAJNV4843KC162052

Similar to Sam's 1976 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible (lot 396), Sam ordered this car new, but initially took delivery at the factory in Coventry. While European Delivery is a well marketed option now, it was less common then to collect your new car straight from the place of manufacture and enjoy it in the country of its birth. Finished in tan with a dark brown top, wire wheels and tan leather, Sam enjoyed some 30,000 miles XJS. Currently showing 30,202, its last serviced for its 30,000 maintenance. Overall, a splendid, low mile, one owner from new example of Jaguar's last V12 grand tourer.

Without reserve

Estimate: $5,000 - 7,000

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
