For Sale on Mobile.de website in Germany on February 21, 2016. Asking EUR 24,000 with 40,000 kilometers. Was originally purchased on eBay USA in March 2013 and imported to Germany. Listing says "Jaguar XJ-SC Hardtop with 40,000 km, Accident-free". Helge wrote to Seller and got the VIN. Previously for sale on eBay USA in San Diego, California on March 9, 2013. Sold for $ 14,600 and has 24,940 original miles. Listing said "1987 JAGUAR XJSC SPECIAL EDITION TARGA / CONVERTIBLE VERY RARE AND LIMITED PRODUCTION. This is a perfect example of an all original 1987 Jaguar XJ-SC maintained and kept beyond words can describe. Only a few hundred sold in the United States, in '86 and '87 only. This car truly looks likes it just rolled out of the show room, you have never encountered a vehicle this age that is so well maintained. Vehicle is equipped with stunning Arctic Blue Metallic Exterior (factory code JFE), certainly is a very appropriate color for the XJ-SC. The factory original paint has kept its deep luster through all those years; it has been regularly detailed. The interior accoutrements of a Jaguar are legendary. A dashboard that deserves the name, with honest-to-goodness burled walnut wood and a leather-wrapped volant, here immaculately preserved. Not a single crack mars the dash. This automobile has always been garaged; it has never been smoked in. All that old-world craftsmanship meets modern day technology, though: nestled between wood and leather, a vehicle information center supplies the driver with valuable information. Factory Jaguar concert sound system with multiple speakers includes cassette deck. Automatic climate control lets you select a convenient ambient temperature, and the system will supply ample amounts of ice cold or super-heated air. Rear hardtop and T-top panels can be installed during the cooler season to create a weather-tight Coupe. The XJSC were designed for Royalty, this is your chance to own one of this kind. Truly a unique vehicle. Very Rare model to find especially in this pristine condition. USA VIN is SAJNV3841HC138903.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
