This is a Gorgeous 1988 Jaguar XJS Coupe in Absolutely Fantastic Condition. The exterior finish is Grenadier Red with Barley interior. There has been only one owner since new and this Coupe has 21,349 original miles. The owner purchased this Jaguar in July 1987 for his wife on their 20th wedding anniversary. He was also a custom home builder, and this XJS was kept in the climate controlled garage of the magnificent home they built for themselves in a rural area outside of Philadelphia PA. The owner passed away in January 2020 at 76 years of age, and his wife now decided to relocate to an assisted living facility, which is how we came to acquire this exceptional XJS. She states that this Jaguar had never spent a night outside, and has never seen a snowflake, or been driven in the rain.

We were given the original sales contract and all Jaguar sales paperwork when the owner purchased this car. We also received a packet of all service receipts from the Jaguar dealer where this XJS was serviced through the years. Included are three sets of keys, all of the glovebox manuals, the original floor mats (still in perfect condition), and the original window sticker of $41,915.

Other than required maintenance items, this car is completely and totally unaltered and unmodified. It still has the factory original Pirelli P5 tires that came on this car with only minor side wall cracking. The date code of the tires as seen in the photos below is "087" which indicates that they were made in the 8th week of 1987. These tires on this car still have factory air from 1987, including the matching spare which has never been out of the trunk.

This Jaguar is an absolute pleasure to drive. The V12 engine runs very strong and smoothly, and the automatic transmission shifts crisply. The suspension and steering are nice and tight. The brake pads are all in excellent condition, and the oil and filter were freshly changed this week. We checked all of the equipment in this car to verify operation. I believe that every feature and power option in this vehicle has been checked and tested, and everything in this car is functioning properly including the air conditioning. All of the gauges are working and reading properly. The stereo and speakers sounds good and the power antenna is working. The wipers, horn and all lights are working correctly. This car does not have any service indicators or warning lights on.

The exterior of this XJS is nearly flawlessly and in Magnificent condition. The paint is super glossy over the entire vehicle. There aren’t any dents or scratches on the body, and of course there isn’t any body rust - at all. Both of the bumpers are unflawed and in like new condition, as is all of the body trim. The alloy wheels are bright, clean without any fading corrosion or curb rash. The interior is crisp, clean and in fabulous condition. The leather seats are soft and supple with absolutely no wear. The carpeting is super clean, fluffy and fresh. The door panels, dash and all of the interior trim pieces are intact, tight and in flawless condition. This was a non-smoker owned vehicle, and there aren’t any odors inside this car.

The vehicle history report is clean without any accidents, and we have clear title in hand. The owner re-titled this car in 2007 when he changed the registration to classic status, but of course the ownership did not change. This is a Gorgeous looking Jaguar, and I believe it would be nearly impossible to find a better original example than this one, at any price.
