Private Party or Dealer: Dealer
This 1988 Jaguar XJS was reportedly purchased new from AC Imports in Palatine, Illinois by its current owner and shows approximately 7,500 miles. Power comes from a 5.3L V12 paired with an automatic transmission, and a service in 2019 included a new fuel pump and filter, an oil change, and a general inspection. Modifications consist of a Sony head unit and CD changer, and the original stereo is also included in the sale. This XJS is offered by the selling dealer on behalf of its original owner with a handful of records, its original bill of sale, a build sheet and window sticker, awards, an event board, a clear Carfax, and a clean Florida title.
The metallic finish is accented with beige pinstripes and shown up close in the gallery below along with the brightwork and other trim. The exterior retains stock US-spec bumpers and quadruple headlights as well a rear badge affixed by the original selling dealer. No accidents or other damage are shown on the included Carfax.
Stock 15″ wheels are mounted with 215/70 Pirelli P5 tires all around. Each corner is detailed up close in the gallery.
The cabin features grey leather upholstery and color-matched carpeting accented with burl wood on the door panels, dash, and shifter surround. Factory appointments include heated front seats, cruise control, a trip computer, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more. A period Sony cassette player and trunk-mounted 10-disc CD changer were installed by the original owner, while the stock unit is included and pictured in the gallery.
The mechanical odometer indicates 7,500 miles. The trunk contains a full-sized spare wheel assembly and battery maintainer.
The naturally-aspirated 5.3L V12 sends power to the rear wheels though an automatic transmission. In addition to an invoice for the 2019 service, maintenance records from 1989, 1992, and 2017-2018 accompany the car.
The original owner framed the window sticker and build sheet for show purposes as pictured above. A Best In Class award from the 2018 Wheels Across the Pond British Classic Car and Bike Show is also included.
The accident-free Carfax reports Illinois ownership from new through 2017 when it moved to Florida. The most recent odometer reading was taken in October 2017 at 7,092 miles.
