Ebay item 11/25/22
Opening bid $11,999, no reserve, 6 days left in auction no bids, seller allthingsprettybytt, 133k miles. Car now in Anaheim, California.
Seller's description:
1988 Jaguar XJ SC V12 Cabriolet...somewhat rare car!
Almost a convertible, like a targa top can easily remove one or both tops directly overhead, or all three as the rear hard top cap can be removed very easy as well.
This car is a great driver and one you shouldn't really be afraid of getting out there with it and it looks and runs fantastic, former owner was a Jaguar club member and went to shows a lot. It's had quite a bit of work done to be able to keep it on the road well, and only needs a few things to really get as near perfect as possible. Selling for my father as he is too old to enjoy this car and can't drive much anymore.
This beauty has new recent tires, not even a thousand miles on them yet, probably about 300 to maybe 500 total. We've taken it out a few times but never really far, few hours road trip is all and sadly dad never even drove this. Bought it and was afraid of hurting it. He isn't a confident driver much anymore.
It has recently came out of the Jaguar shop in Huntington Beach with just under $2000 work re-doing all the fuel likes and injector seals. Expensive job that must be done occasionally. This one still had all the originals on it when my dad bought it ? can't believe it they were so hard and brittle and when one started leaking, which brought it to our attention we replaced all of them. It just wasn't something we looked at when dad bought it. The car looked and ran so well and the previous owner told us a lot about all the work he did. He has his own shop at home with a lift and everything and at one time had 12 very expensive classic rare cars. This vehicle has always been garage kept as it should be.
The Jaguar shop did drive it and recommended only a few things like it could use some new rear shocks, they told me it has 4 shocks in back and some front bushings to tighten up the suspension ride. I personally haven't been under the car but they said it all looks good and not rusty. This car could use a little interior work but is far from being awful.
The AC can work but needs a charge and this has not been converted to the new freon yet. Still had the R12 system and dad hasn't tried to see about reworking that yet. It blows well, just not cold.
This amazing ride was repainted in the original color by a former owner and looks fantastic and the Jaguar shop said whoever did it was a pretty good professional job. There is a small imperfection however in the driver's door likely where a small dent was repaired but probably where it has cracked under the exterior paint otherwise just a few very small minor scratches to be expected when one of these cars is actually driven and enjoyed, rather than just parked as a collection piece.
We smogged it about two months ago and passed with zero issues has to be a dyno smog and was almost $100 to get done. Current California registration.
