Car offered at:
www.gatewayclassiccars.com/chicago/1988/jaguar/xjsc-S901.html
Sellers description:
For sale in our Chicago showroom is a very unique 1988 Jaguar XJSC V12. The design was so beautiful and well accepted that it remained relatively untouched for the entire run. Starting in 1983 a Cabriolet version with a unique two piece targa-style roof and removable rear roof and window which is what we have here today. By 1985 Jaguar upped the anty mechanically and debuted the 5.3 Liter V12. At a time when V12s were anything but common, Jaguars innovation came to the forefront and helped to give the brand a presence in the luxury market and create vehicles that are now sought after by collectors.
This XJSC has the original mileage of only 42,656 and was driven and meticulously maintained by the 3 previous owners since new. The Connolly leather seating surfaces are original and are in remarkably well preserved condition. In addition to the very nice burled Elm interior appointments this car had all of the innovations you would expect of the time including heated seats, power windows, telescoping steering and AM/FM stereo cassette.
With very limited production numbers from new, this car is not one you are likely to see too often. The low profile with sleek lines, handsome chrome exterior trim and starfish 5-spoke wheels have created an iconic look that is still coveted today.
