This 1988 Jaguar XJ-SC is said to have been purchased new by the seller’s brother-in-law at AC Imports in Palatine, Illinois. It was acquired by the seller in 2006 and now shows 55k miles. The car is powered by a 5.3-liter V12 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Silver Birch Metallic over Buckskin leather. Features include a brown soft top with removable roof panels, 15″ alloy wheels, automatic climate control, heated front seats, and an aftermarket Alpine CD stereo. This XJ-SC is now offered with a window sticker, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Silver Birch Metallic (MDJ) and features a brown convertible soft top with removable roof panels and a heated rear window. Additional exterior details include belt-line pin striping, front and rear impact bumpers, fog lights, heated windshield washers, and dual polished exhaust outlets. Rust is present on the inner corners of the trunk lid.

Silver-finished 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with Cooper CS4 Touring tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs at all four corners.

The cabin features Buckskin (AFR) leather on the seating surfaces, center console, and door panels as well as burl walnut wood trim on the dashboard and center console. The two-spoke steering wheel wears an aftermarket cover and frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.3-liter aluminum V12 was factory rated at 262 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque when new. Work in February 2022 reportedly included an oil change and replacement of the throttle linkage bushings and air temperature sensor. The seller notes an oil leak from a valve cover gasket.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission. An aftermarket exhaust system has reportedly been installed.

The window sticker shows initial delivery to AC Imports in Palatine, Illinois, and lists factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $50,900. Service records are also included in the sale.
