Ebay item 6/30/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1976-Jaguar-XJS-Chevrolet-Powered-/251093974856
Current bid $1,025 reserve not met, 7 bids 1 day left in auction. 39K miles.
Sellers description:
1976 Jaguar XJS That you can afford to maintain. This car was converted to chevrolet power useing a Johns Kit. It included all the mounts and wiring, even the driveshaft. It was a very nice job. The engine is a 350 chevy crate motor 4 bolt with a casting number of 3970010. It has an aluminum intake and a holley carb. The transmission is a turbo 350. The battery has been moved to the trunk and is new. The interior is in very good shape. It's not like new but plenty good for a driver. All the glass is good. The body is extremely good for it's age with only a few little dents and a couple rust holes. They are in the pictures but aren't as bad as a digital carera makes them look. There has been one patch in the right front floor. Other than that there is no rust. Everything in the dash works, even the tach. The tires look good but they have some age on them. Now to the story on this car. As you can see in the picture, the last tag on this was 1992. Someone spent a good deal of money on this carand just let it sit. It will start up and drive around the yard but will need some sorting out before you go anywhere. The paint's not bad on it but of course it has aged. The electric windows are not working. Amazingly the a/c compressor still has gas in it. It still has the tool kit in the trunk. The exterior rubber around the rear bumper is aged. Anyway, with a little bit of money and work you can cruise in a Jag.

Current bid $1,500 reserve not met, 1 bid 6 day left in auction. Car now said to be in Thomaston, Georgia. 10k miles.
Sellers description:
1980 Jaguar XJS 2+2 Coupe
This car has been converted from the Jag 12 cylinder to the VERY VERY desirable Chevy 350 with Turbo Transmission. Conversion is balanced with new drive shaft, wires, everything that usually goes with the Jag conversion. Has Edelbrock, Holley 4 Barrel Carb.
No vibration and no shimmy. Drives out as it should. Has AC that works(last time I checked). Interior is quite nice for its age. Carpets are quite nice. There are some small rust issues along trunk line and small issues in lower panels but is not major.
This car will need restored. Body is solid but will need new paint job to be show. I received a professional estimate to restore the body with proper red paint. The quote was 2500.00 FYI.
The car is a daily driver and will take you home and beyond. The dual exhaust growls like any muscle car should.
The issues that need attention include: It will need a new wiper motor. There is a leak in the power steering unit. I use a sealer and it is not a huge problem to occasionally add power steering fluid. Tires are ok but not new. Does pull some when brakes are applied to quickly but are ok. does not have a radio but all the connection wires are there.
This will be a nice investment and the asking price is more than in line with its value.
I buy and sell and drive cars as a hobby so I am off to another project. I am not selling this car because of any other reason. I have had fun with it and love driving this car.
Georgia is a non-title state for older cars. This car is registered in my name in Georgia. I will provide a bill of Sale with the car. The Car has no liens and is clear.
