This car is a RHD and the chassis number is SAJJNACC7CC112144

You are correct Lofty but it was built as a LHD & later converted along with around 100 others

Allthough listed as a LHD this is one of at least 69 Cabriolet's converted to RHD
Conversions were done at the factory then sold to UK market.
Tell tale signs Lage Driving lights on front wings & leather patch on passenger door
    where wing mirror switch was.

Hello, I have a 1988 xjs convertable vin SAJJADW4DM149912 which came out of Japan. This seems feasible as it has Japanese stickers etc on it. The Vin stacks up in all areas except the "4" in the middle which means "transmission Auto and LHD. The car is a RHD. It does have a patch over the passenger side mirror control. Bleasy is mine also one of the cabs converted to converables in the factory?
    cheers Scott

    Hi Scott.
Vin 149912 is a much later car than the last Cabriolet built Vin 148594 circa 1,300 vehicles later.
Afraid you have misread my earlier comment
The Cabriolet's that were converted were changed from LHD to RHD for sale in the UK. NOT converted to Convertibles. I have no Data available on Convertibles.
    Regards
    Bleasie.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
