Car to be at auction 9/20
www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2020-09-26/cars/ref-154-1996-jaguar-xjs-cele ...

Auction description:
1996 Jaguar XJS Celebration Convertible
Lot Number 166
Registration N39 ARM
Chassis Number SAJJNAFD3EJ224006
Engine Number 9LPFRB146533
Odometer reading 56,309 miles
Estimate £15,000 - £19,000

Low mileage
14 stamps in service book
Wind deflector fitted

This desirable Celebration Convertible model was registered in April 1996 and presents well in Morocco Red metallic with Cream leather interior. It could be argued that the Celebration model was the best XJS produced and certainly one of the most popular. In addition to the already high standard level of equipment enjoyed by the XJS, this last model benefits from piped seats embossed with the iconic leaping cat logo, a wood/leather steering wheel and wooden gear knob. This Jaguar is fitted with five spoke XJS alloys, a wind deflector, the popular double headlight conversion and comes to auction with a spare set of Celebration alloys, although these will require refurbishment. Also present with this low mileage example is the tonneau cover, the original book pack which includes a service book showing 14 stamps and a V5C registration document. We are also informed that this handsome Jaguar will have a fresh MoT test certificate. This Jaguar represents an attractively priced opportunity to purchase a popular Celebration model.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
