Hammer value N/S (est. £5,000 - £6,000)
Description Jaguar XJS V12
Registration J821 EWR
Year 1992
Colour Red
Engine size 5,344 cc
Chassis No. SAJJNAEW3EN182551
Engine No. 85084024SJ

Sold new by Appleyards of Leeds, this 1992 example has 16 services showing on file. Appleyards undertook the first 7, the remaining service history being undertaken by independent specialists. By 2002 the car had covered 109,000 miles, moving to Spain until the owner passed away in 2010. During this time a mere 5,000 miles were added, the car enjoying the warm dry climate and the gentler way of life.

Upon its return to the UK it has received a rear suspension overhaul, new lower front suspension joints, new rear brakes and calipers, new tyres, new battery and has been fully serviced. MOTd until June 2012 it comes complete with handbooks, service details and sits on the correct lattice alloy wheels. This metallic red V12 with cream leather is described by the vendor as a lovely running example. If you have never had the pleasure of driving one of these wonderful cars, now could be your chance. The ride quality and refinement is nothing short of astonishing.

Car to be at auction 7/17

Auction description:
Lot 49
Registration Date 1992
Make & Model Jaguar XJS V12 Automatic
Colour Red Metallic
Registration Number J821 EWR
Chassis No. SAJJNAEW3EN182551
Engine size 5,344 cc
Engine No. 8SO84024SJ
Documents V5C; MOT January 2018 with no advisories; handbooks; service book with 16 stamps
Estimate No Reserve

Dating from January 1992, this well-presented metallic red V12 Coupe is one of the later cars which used many galvanised body panels. It has covered 115,000 miles, as confirmed by the service book which has 16 stamps, the majority of which are from Jaguar main dealers. Its last service took place at 109,179 miles and the rest of the book pack is present, including the supplements.

The interior remains a pleasant place to be, thanks to the biscuit leather, walnut dashboard and inlays. They are in good order and the spare wheel, jack and tools are present and correct in the boot.

Kept garaged and barely used these last few years, it has an MOT until January 2018 with no advisories recorded, although the vendor suggests that a precautionary service would be wise before the Big Cat is put back into daily use.

These big Jaguars run with a turbine smoothness that only a V12 can deliver. This car has clearly been well cared for during its life and is on offer at no reserve so the highest bidder takes it home.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
