Country United Kingdom
Low ownership facelift XJS in an attractive colour combination
5.3-litre V12 engine mated to 3-speed GM automatic transmission
Potential basis for an excellent restoration project
V5 present
MOT valid until 24/03/2024 with no advisories stated
2 former keepers
Reported to be supplied with a collection of documents relating to previous servicing work
Supplied with a collection of historic MOT certificates
The Interior
Presented in a light beige leather with burr walnut veneers over darker grey carpets
Electrically operated heated front seats with memory function for the driver’s seat
Cruise control and digital LCD trip computer giving average and instant fuel economy, average speed and current time
Air conditioning with automatic and manual control
Later Sony CD player head unit with USB and auxiliary input
Looking at the interior of this XJS it would be fair to say it currently presents in fairly heavily used condition. Most of the interior leather damage is focused on the driver’s seat, which has a ripped seat squab in addition to a worn and what looks to be a previously repaired side bolster. The rest of the interior leather, although appearing somewhat soiled, doesn’t appear to demonstrate any significant damage and should be amenable to a good clean up and feed
Carpets appear to be original and complete although also present currently in a somewhat soiled condition and would benefit from a thorough valet
The lovely interior burr walnut trim appears richly coloured and complete with some cracking and damage over the centre console area
The owner reports he has had the headlining replaced whilst under his ownership and that all interior equipment functions as expected
The Exterior
Presented in the attractive shade of Oyster metallic with dual red and grey coachlines
Later facelift model with restyled rear side window profile and rear light cluster arrangement
Sitting on an original set of 15 inch lattice alloy wheels with Jaguar centre badges
Looking over the bodywork of this XJS its apparent that some of the typical problem areas would benefit from attention. In particular wheel arches and front and rear sill sections demonstrate visible corrosion, along with the bonnet leading edge
Note is additionally made of key marks running along both the nearside and offside flanks of the car
External lighting and trim appear complete with evidence of some damage over the nearside rear light cluster
The Mechanics
5.3-litre V12 engine delivering power to the rear wheels via a 3-speed GM automatic transmission
Reported by the owner to be in a good running condition, starting keenly and performing well out on the road. However he also reports a power steering fluid leak which requires topping up from time to time
The owner tells us that recently whilst under his ownership the XJS has had some attention paid to the exhaust and suspension systems and there is some paperwork relating to this work
Reported to have been serviced as required during annual MOT assessment
